All Spectrum Slimline models operate as electric fireplaces and do not require gas connections, venting, or combustion air. Flame and lighting effects are generated using LED-based technology with independently controlled flame and ember bed illumination, as documented by the manufacturer. Select models are equipped with an integrated electric heater rated at 5,000 BTU for supplemental zone heating where permitted.
